The deep narcissist becomes completely self-absorbed, almost always below the mark.  If for a moment they manage to engage with others; some comment or action will trigger their insecurities; and will go plummeting down.   But mostly, they tend to sink deeper into the themselves over time, other people are instruments.  Reality is just a reflection of their needs, and constant attention is their only way of survival.  Citation: Robert Greene, The Laws Of Human Nature, Page 47.
