Posting your issues to strangers online can open you up to many dangers, such as stalking, threats and worst from individuals who are lurking your page.
Imagine, you are posting things online, and not knowing who is reading all your posts. I am referring to individuals, who don’t follow you on social media, nor are friends with you on Facebook. They are just lurkers who may know you offline-someone who could be your co-worker, or a neighbor who lives next to you or someone, from your past who may’ve had some unresolved issues with you. But why would these such people lurk your page in the first place?
Perhaps it is because that they need to find something on you, just so that they can use it against you later. From that point, they may use those people search apps such as Truthfinder, Instant Checkmate, BeenVerified, etc. To see if you have any criminal records, liens, or anything adverse; they will look up your address and use Google Map Street View, to see what your home or apartment building you live in, looks like. The danger part is that you don’t know that you are being stalked, and/or who is stalking you.
Worst case scenario, imagine if you were posting something negative about someone, you had a problem with offline, in a forum chatroom, and that individual, you mentioned, could be reading those post chats. With that, person will look up your address, phone numbers, and will even, search for adverse information about you. Such as your criminal background, or information that you don’t want others to know about, that can end with catastrophic consequences on your end.
In conclusion, social media can be a devil’s playground of some sort, and can be very dangerous, if you make it that way. Saying negative things about someone online, can sometimes have catastrophic consequences, if you are not careful. Or posting information about your hardships and other issues, can be viewed by lurkers, who may be your co-workers or neighbors.
